Gonorrhea: It can affect penis, vagina, throat and anus, and in rare cases enter inside the blood and spread in the full body. Treatment is increasingly becoming difficult as the bacteria has developed resistance to many antibiotiics. It is diagnosed with a swab test and cannot be detected in blood tests. Treatment is high dose oral tablet antibiotics and in those you are unable to tolerate high dose, an injection is required. Untreated infection can lead to infertility.
Chlamydia, Mycoplasma & Ureaplasma:
These are tiny bacteria which can affect penis, vagina, throat and anus. They cause irritation of these parts causing discharge and pain in these areas. Untreated infection can lead to infertility. Treatment is done with high dose oral antibiotics.
Warts: These are cauliflower like growths which can affect any body surfaces but especially thin skin like genitals, oral cavity and anus. They can present outside or inside the cavity. Some types are high risk for causing dangerous cancers like cervical, penile, throat and anal. Cancer causing warts can be prevented by taking 2-3 doses of vaccine. Once contracted treatment is difficult and is best treated with removal and immunotherapy.
Herpes: This is a painful irritating viral infection which causes blister boils on affected area. The blister leave ulcers which heal with scars. Once contracted there is no permanent cure. It comes in repeated episodes over life time and can transmit to your partner and child, needing planned pregnancy. The duration and severity of episode can be reduced by taking oral antivirals, but permanently cannot be eradicated.
